At the beginning of 2016, I made an oath to myself to see more of this beautiful world and the people who live in it. From backpacking through the Canadian Rockies to venturing through the rainforest of Central America, to ending the year exploring Iceland and more of Western Europe...and all the other micro-adventures in between, I have truly been blessed. With every new place I travel to and every new friend I make, the more I realize I am more at home on the road than I will ever be somewhere stagnant.
I've said it once and I'll say it again- life is too short to experience from one place. This world is good, my friends. Turn off CNN and get out there and see it for yourself. You can't take anything with you to the grave except for the ink on your skin and the stories on your last breath. So, as we engage in 2017, I will resolve to do more of the same by traveling to new places and rediscovering familiar ones- with an emphasis on increasing my tolerance, understanding, and open-mindedness for all people, places, and things.
Whatever your goals are for the rest of this year, I encourage each of you to ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs right now is people who have come alive.
